Tema: Nutrifoods Ghana Limited, a renowned player in Ghana's fast-moving consumer goods sector, has extended a helping hand to communities affected by recent floods in Tema and its surrounding areas. The company, a joint venture between Olam International and Sanyo Foods, has donated food products valued at over GHS70,000 to the National Disaster Management Organization (NADMO) to assist more than 1,000 flood victims.
According to Ghana Web, the company's donation includes a variety of essential food items such as cartons of NutriSnax and Royal King Cracker biscuits, Tasty Tom Tomato Mix and Seasoning powders, bags of Royal Aroma Rice, cartons of 1st Choice Premium Spaghetti, and cartons of NutriMorn Non-Dairy Creamer. This initiative is part of Nutrifoods Ghana Limited's Corporate Social Responsibility program, reflecting its commitment to supporting communities in times of need.
The beneficiaries of this donation will include residents from Klagon, Community 3, Community 5, and Wolei, among others. During the handover of the items to Dennis Nartey Adjarnor, the Greater Accra Regional Director of NADMO, Marian Sackeyfio, the New Business Development and Corporate Affairs Lead at Nutrifoods Ghana Limited, expressed her sympathy for the affected families.
'The devastation caused by the recent floods has left many families displaced and struggling to rebuild their lives. It is heartbreaking to witness the impact these floods have had on homes, businesses, and livelihoods,' Sackeyfio stated. She emphasized that while the donation may not completely alleviate the victims' hardships, it aims to offer some relief and reassurance as they begin the recovery process.
Dennis Nartey Adjarnor, upon receiving the items, expressed gratitude towards Nutrifoods Ghana Limited for their timely intervention. He highlighted the significant role of the private sector in disaster response efforts and assured that the donated items would be distributed fairly among the victims to provide them with the necessary support.
