Second Vice Chairman of NPP Tano North Files for Chairmanship Slot

Duayaw-nkwanta: Mr Biiyien Janamah, the Second Vice Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Tano North Constituency of the Ahafo Region, has submitted his nomination papers to contest for the Chairmanship slot of the party.

According to Ghana News Agency, the leadership of the largest opposition NPP has scheduled July 2026 to elect the party's various constituency executives. Popularly known in the political space as 'Chairman BA', Mr Janamah stated that his decision to contest for the constituency chairmanship position was aimed at making the NPP more attractive to woo floating voters in the Election 2028.

In an interview at Duayaw-Nkwanta after submitting his nomination paper, Mr Janamah expressed that the party required visionary leadership to reunite the rank and file and make the NPP formidable. He highlighted that re-strategizing and strengthening the party's structures would enhance the fortunes of the party in winning the Election 2026.

Mr Janamah emphasized that unity remained crucial in rebuilding the party and urged members and supporters of the party in the constituency to bury their differences and support the reorganization of the NPP for the next General Election. He called on the constituency executives to support and market the visions of its Election 2028 Flagbearer, the former Vice President Alhaji Dr Mahamudu Bawumia.

Mr Janamah expressed confidence in the leadership abilities of the flagbearer and pledged to work tirelessly to ensure that Alhaji Dr Bawumia recaptured political power in the Election 2028.
