According to ghana news agency:ccording to Ghana News Agency, Professor Dr. Ron S. J. Tuninga, Rector of Wittenborg University of Applied Sciences in the Netherlands, delivered the guest lecture. He emphasized that Artificial Intelligence (AI) presents both opportunities and challenges for Technical Universities (TUs). He highlighted the importance of transforming AI tools to improve the competitiveness of Ghana and Africa globally, addressing both regional and global educational and research needs.
Professor Tuninga encouraged TUs to become co-creators of innovation by developing research ecosystems and new industrialization models. This approach aims to impact students' learning skills and societal development positively. He stressed the importance of multidisciplinary educational models and the development of core skills in industry, business, and society. Enhancing life-long learning skills among students was also emphasized to boost employment opportunities and drive innovation to benefit humanity.
He further noted that lifelong learning strategies for TUs in Ghana should include modular and flexible learning, reskilling and upscaling, industry-responsive education, and the development of ultimate learning skills.
