Beirut: A senior official from Hezbollah has stated that Iran will only sign an agreement with the United States if it includes an Israeli withdrawal from Lebanon. The official emphasized that the Islamic Republic has made it "very clear" that this condition is one of Iran's "top priorities," highlighting Iran as Hezbollah's most significant supporter.
According to Ghana News Agency, Qatar-based Al Jazeera reported that Iran's commitment to Hezbollah pertains to the next phase of negotiations with the US. The Iranian demand for an Israeli pullout from Lebanon is seen as a prerequisite for the talks, not necessarily in the initial stages, but as a conclusive requirement.
Israeli analysts have speculated that Iran's stipulation is connected to a potential final agreement between the US and Iran, rather than the imminent framework agreement expected to be signed on Friday in Switzerland. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu reaffirmed on Monday that Israel's military would continue to operate in "security zones" in the Gaza Strip, southern Lebanon, and Syria "as long as necessary."
Hezbollah's leader, Naim Qassem, stated that Iran has guaranteed the "immediate and permanent end of military operations on all fronts, including in Lebanon." He described this assurance as the "first and fundamental clause" in the framework agreement between Washington and Tehran regarding the Iran conflict. Qassem further noted, "Iran has given Hezbollah and Lebanon everything and taken nothing in return."
