Accra: Popular reggae/dancehall artiste Ras Kuuku has provided insights into Stonebwoy's consistent success in the Telecel Ghana Music Awards (TGMAs). For over a decade, Stonebwoy has been the standout winner in the TGMA's 'Reggae/Dancehall' category, securing his 10th win at the 2026 event. This category has been active for 12 years, with only Ras Kuuku in 2020 and Epixode in 2021 breaking Stonebwoy's winning streak.
According to Ghana Web, Ras Kuuku, in an interview with Graphic Showbiz, emphasized that Stonebwoy's edge over his peers is attributed to his substantial investment in the music business rather than a lack of effort from other artistes. Ras Kuuku stated, "Everybody is working hard. It's not true that the other artistes are sleeping. Stonebwoy invests more money into the business than most of us. He understands the business side very well and puts a lot into promotion and marketing. The more money you invest, the bigger the visibility."
Ras Kuuku further acknowledged the dedication of Reggae/Dancehall artistes in Ghana, highlighting that financial commitment is a crucial factor in distinguishing leaders in the genre. He added, "When one person puts far more money into the craft, the results will also be different. I'm happy he's investing in the industry because it helps the genre grow."
