Kumasi: The Executive Director of Africa Education Watch, Kofi Asare, has announced plans to petition President John Dramani Mahama and the Education Ministry over the insufficient number of facilitators at the University of Skills Training and Entrepreneurial Development (USTED) in Kumasi.
According to Ghana Web, Asare highlighted the need for more lecturers, faculty members, and instructors to ensure quality education during his speech on day two of the maiden International Conference on Education and Humanities hosted by USTED on Thursday. He emphasized that USTED, as the sole tertiary institution dedicated to training human resources for Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) institutions in the country, is facing significant resource challenges.
Asare's comments underscore the urgent need for addressing these gaps to enhance the quality of training provided to students, which is crucial for the development of a skilled workforce in the region. The petition aims to bring attention to these issues and seek support from the government to improve the situation at USTED.
