Kwafokrom: The Eastern South Regional Police Command has arrested two suspects in connection with the armed robbery attack at the Kwafokrom GOIL Filling Station near Nsawam in the Eastern Region.
According to Ghana Web, the suspects, identified as Amos Boame and Collins Adjei, were apprehended following investigations into the robbery incident which occurred on Sunday, May 24, 2026. A statement issued on Tuesday, May 26, 2026, and signed by DSP David Fianko-Okyere of the Public Affairs Unit, noted that police are actively pursuing an accomplice identified only as Ashivie, who is believed to have been involved in the robbery.
The statement further detailed that several items believed to have been used during the robbery were recovered from the suspects and are currently held as exhibits. These include an Alder Tupal pump-action gun with serial number 245A-12944, an electronic shocker, a cutlass, and a bulletproof vest. The police report also indicated that during the robbery, the suspects shot and injured a security guard and a pump attendant, who had sought refuge in an office within the filling station.
In addition, the robbers absconded with cash totaling Thirteen Thousand Four Hundred and Sixty Ghana Cedis (GHS13,460.00), as mentioned in the release. Police investigators on the scene managed to recover nineteen spent cartridges and one live round of ammunition. The injured victims are receiving medical treatment and are reportedly in stable condition.
The Eastern South Regional Police Command has assured the public that efforts are underway to apprehend the remaining accomplices and dismantle their network. The Command has also guaranteed residents and local business operators of enhanced security measures in the area. DSP David Fianko-Okyere urged residents to remain calm, noting that police, in collaboration with the Filling Station Managers, have implemented robust security measures to prevent further incidents.
