Accra: The Narcotics Control Commission has arrested several suspected drug traffickers after weekend operations in parts of Greater Accra and the Oti Region.
According to Ghana Web, NACOC stated in a Facebook post on Monday, May 18, 2026, that the intelligence-led raids are part of its intensified nationwide campaign against illicit drug trafficking and substance abuse. Officers targeted known drug dens in Kisseiman, Dome, and Kwabenya in Greater Accra, where they retrieved quantities of suspected narcotics and other incriminating materials.
A separate operation in Alavanyo in the Oti Region also led to more arrests and the seizure of suspected drugs. The Commission said the operations aim to identify and dismantle criminal networks distributing illegal drugs, especially in densely populated urban areas.
"All suspects arrested during the raids are currently assisting with investigations pending prosecution," NACOC stated. It reaffirmed its commitment to tackling the country's growing drug menace and warned those involved in the illegal trade to desist or face prosecution.
The Commission also assured the public that it will continue working to identify and dismantle networks linked to illicit drug distribution nationwide.
