Krachi east: Mr Clement Mensah, the incumbent First Vice Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Krachi East Constituency, has emphasized that strengthening grassroots party defenders will be crucial for the party's success in the 2028 general elections.
According to Ghana News Agency, Mr Mensah outlined his vision for the constituency by highlighting the importance of a disciplined and well-organized base of party officers, polling station executives, and branch members. He explained that these components form the foundation of every successful political campaign. Mr Mensah stressed that investing in the capacity building and welfare of party defenders would enhance the NPP's ability to engage voters, communicate its message effectively, and respond swiftly to issues at the grassroots level.
Mr Mensah argued that the position of First Vice Chairman should be held by a dedicated and committed individual who has sacrificed for the growth of the party, rather than individuals pursuing personal interests. He stated that the office should not be occupied by those whose primary motivation is personal gain but rather by individuals genuinely committed to advancing the collective interest of the NPP and strengthening its grassroots structures.
Mr Mensah maintained that effective party leadership demands commitment, experience, and a willingness to serve members at all levels, especially during challenging periods. He added that leaders who have remained active and supportive of the party through both victories and setbacks are better positioned to unite members and drive the party's agenda ahead of the 2028 elections.
