Accra: Ghanaian musician Black Sherif has elaborated on his decision to share the cash prize he received at the 27th Telecel Ghana Music Awards with fellow artists AratheJay and Gonaboy. Speaking in an interview on 3FM, Black Sherif disclosed that the move was inspired by a profound spiritual connection he feels with the two emerging artists, as well as his commitment to supporting burgeoning talent in the music industry.
According to Ghana Web, Black Sherif expressed that he sensed a unique bond with AratheJay and Gonaboy even before meeting them in person. He remarked, "I know AratheJay and Gonaboy. When I say I know them, that's on the spiritual side. Even when I didn't know them personally, the first time hearing their music, my soul knew them." This connection, he elaborated, is based on a shared creative energy and artistic vision that some musicians naturally possess.
The artist further explained that after developing personal relationships with AratheJay and Gonaboy, it felt appropriate to share the financial reward. "Then I got to know them personally and we have personal relationships. It felt right and it felt progressive. I realised we need stuff like that," Black Sherif stated. He emphasized the importance of such gestures in fostering a supportive and collaborative environment within the music community.
