The Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) is on the verge of a leadership transition. Sources close to the university administration indicate that a successor to the outgoing Vice-Chancellor, Professor Rita Akosua Dickson, is expected to be finalized by this Friday.
According to Ghana Web, while eleven distinguished academics applied for the prestigious role at Ghana's premier science and technology hub, the field will ultimately narrow to a single appointee. Speculation within the university community is rife, as all candidates reportedly delivered strong performances during their interviews with the Search Committee.
The Governing Council is scheduled to deliberate on a shortlist of three or four candidates. Following these deliberations, the Council will select the individual deemed most suitable to lead the institution. The Search Committee, chaired by Justice Sir Dennis Adjei, has reportedly concluded its evaluation.
