Accra: Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA) has initiated steps to broaden stakeholder engagement as discussions continue on the rollout of the Publican AI system in customs operations.
According to Ghana Web, in a letter dated April 14, 2026, the Authority called on key stakeholders to nominate representatives to serve on a multi-party technical committee. This move follows a meeting held at the Ministry of Finance on April 1, 2026, where participants agreed on the need for a more structured and inclusive platform to facilitate engagement among all parties.
Under the proposal, each organization is expected to submit three nominees to serve on the committee. The committee will help guide discussions and address concerns regarding the implementation of the AI-driven system. "We are by this letter requesting you to nominate three persons from your organisation to constitute the committee," the letter stated.
The GRA indicated that the committee is expected to commence work almost immediately, with its first meeting scheduled for Thursday, April 16, 2026, at the Ministry of Finance. The initiative forms part of broader government efforts to ensure that stakeholders are actively involved in shaping the implementation of the system, which is intended to improve efficiency and streamline customs processes across the country.
