Essikado-ketan: The Sekondi-Takoradi Metropolitan Assembly (STMA) has officially handed over a newly renovated office building to the leadership of the Essikado-Ketan Sub-Metropolitan area, marking a significant step in improving administrative operations within the region. The refurbishment project, valued at GHS1,388,826, aims to provide a more conducive working environment for staff and enhance overall efficiency.
According to Ghana News Agency, the facility, which previously served as changing rooms, had fallen into a state of disrepair before the Assembly's intervention. The comprehensive renovation included upgrading the existing structure, adding office spaces, and installing necessary sanitary facilities.
Mr. Faustinus Faidoo, the Metropolitan Chief Executive of STMA, addressed attendees at the commissioning ceremony, expressing the Assembly's commitment to providing a suitable work environment for its employees. He recalled his initial visit to the then-dilapidated facility, noting his disappointment at the poor conditions that were not conducive to productive work.
Mr. Faidoo praised the contractor for completing the renovation project within the agreed six-month timeframe, adhering to the terms of the contract. He also highlighted the Assembly's broader development efforts, mentioning that out of 21 projects funded by the District Assemblies Common Fund, six have been successfully completed.
The Metropolitan Chief Executive announced plans to organize a media tour to showcase the completed projects and emphasized the importance of maintaining the new facilities to ensure their longevity. Staff and users of the office were encouraged to keep the premises and surrounding environment in good condition for future generations.
