Kumasi: Renowned Kumawood actor Akwasi Boadi, popularly known as Akrobeto, has shared a story about how one of his sons was not academically inclined and how he had to withdraw him from school to learn a trade.
According to Ghana Web, in a video shared on X and sighted by them on April 13, 2026, Akrobeto narrated that one of his sons, whose identity he declined to disclose, was not academically strong despite being taken through senior high school. His son was determined to attend university because his elder brothers were in school. However, Akrobeto eventually withdrew him from school and enrolled him in a phone repair apprenticeship.
Akrobeto explained, "My third-born wanted to attend university. I tried everything to put him through school, but he wasn't academically gifted enough. He wrote three different remedial exams and still didn't pass. But because one of his elder brothers was abroad and the other was in university, he remained determined to attend university."
He further recounted how the late Apostle Sarfo Kantanka's advice has sharpened his son's life. "I took him to Apostle Kantanka, and he advised my son to choose something else aside from formal education. So he chose phone repairs. I then took him to a place called China House in Kumasi and rented a place for him."
Akrobeto added, "I used to send him GHS100 every week. Can you imagine that after eight months, he told me to stop sending him money? He had mastered phone repairs and was capable of fixing any phone."
