Working with Sarkodie Was Surreal, Says Black Sherif

Accra: Popular Ghanaian musician Black Sherif has opened up about his work encounter with Sarkodie. He described the experience as performing before 'the perfect audience.' According to Ghana Web, in a recent interview with Kafui Dey, the award-winning singer explained that he felt the need to deliver something worthy of Sarkodie's verse, not just by stepping up, but by fully expressing himself. "Being in the studio with him, I feel like all day long, Countryside is the song it is," he said. Black Sherif admitted the moment felt surreal, given Sarkodie's stature as someone he had long admired from afar. "You see this man on TV, on radio, at the awards, you hear from him by mouth, by doings. Then suddenly you're in his house, making music with him. How do you give him something worth his verse? It wasn't only about stepping up, I needed to express myself. And the only way I can explain it is how I feel on stage: the perfect audience," he shared. In 2024, Sarkodie featured Black Sherif on Countryside, a coll aboration that quickly became a hit and fan favorite, cementing their creative synergy.
