Accra: Reverend Dr Samuel Arthur, the Director of Evangelism for the Great Commission Church International (GCCI), has called on Christians to actively embrace and pursue their divine callings in Christ Jesus. He emphasized that each person has a unique and purposeful design ordained by God.
According to Ghana News Agency, Rev. Dr Arthur shared these insights during the GCCI Greater Accra Regional 2026 Easter Convention held at Frafraha near Accra. He highlighted that there exists a general calling to salvation and a specific calling for each individual in Christ Jesus. "Once God calls a person, he is ready to equip the person with gifts to enable him to pursue the calling to the end," Rev. Dr Arthur stated.
Rev. Dr Arthur explained that callings originate from God, not from individuals, and that God calls Christians to lead sinners out of sin and to live devout holy lives. He remarked, "God has called us to a holy life."
He further pointed out that the first gift bestowed by God to every Christian is the gift of the Holy Spirit, which carries supernatural anointing. He noted that Christians will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes upon them.
Rev. Dr Arthur detailed that the Holy Spirit grants charismatic gifts to Christians, including wisdom, word of knowledge, faith, healing, miracles, prophecy, discernment, tongues, and interpretation of tongues. He urged Christians to utilize their gifts and callings to serve the body of Christ.
