Accra: Pastor Promise Bright Karikari, the Middle-Belt Administrator of the Deeper Christian Life Ministry (DCLM), has called on Christians to use the festive season as a time to build and deepen their intimacy with God. He made this appeal during a sermon over the weekend, emphasizing the need for Christians to lead pure and sanctified lives, which he described as essential traits for drawing closer to God.
According to Ghana News Agency, Pastor Karikari delivered his message during the youth division of the 2026 Global Easter Retreat of the Deeper Life Bible Church. He spoke on the topic: 'Sanctification: The compulsory requirement for heavenly citizenship,' urging Christians to prioritize moral uprightness and sanctification. The retreat, themed 'The Glory of Christ Resurrection,' attracted hundreds of congregants, including youth, children, and adults from various church divisions and districts. The event provided an opportunity for attendees to listen to live sermons from Pastor Dr. William F. Kumuyi, the Founder and General Superintendent of the DCLM, broadcasted from the church headquarters in Nigeria via satellite.
Pastor Karikari highlighted the significance of Easter, which commemorates the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. He cautioned that the celebration would be meaningless if Christians continued to engage in sin, as it distanced them from God. He warned against earthly lusts, amusements, and pleasures, asserting that such behaviors would attract God's displeasure rather than blessings. Citing Psalm 42:1 and Matthew 5:6, he encouraged the youth to maintain holiness and righteousness, assuring them that a godly life would yield no regrets.
In a sermon delivered via satellite from Nigeria, Pastor Dr. Kumuyi, a renowned tele-evangelist and convener of the Global Crusade Kumuyi (GCK), reiterated the faithfulness of God. He stressed that God finds joy in the absolute consecration, entire sanctification, and transparent Christlikeness of His followers. Urging the church to consecrate themselves as the spotless body of Christ, Pastor Kumuyi reminded Christians of God's expectations to observe and keep His statutes, underscoring the importance of inner sanctification reflected in outward cleanliness.
