Police Arrest Three Over Murder at Gbiniyiri

Gbiniyiri: The police have arrested three suspects in connection with the alleged cases of murder and causing harm at Gbiniyiri in the Sawla-Tuna-Kalba District of the Savannah Region. According to Ghana News Agency, the suspects, Yaw Bamuah, Yaa Bokaa, and Kuma Simpor, were apprehended on March 14 through a joint operation by the IGP's Special Intelligence Team and the Savannah Regional Police Command. During the interrogation, one of the suspects admitted to being involved in the attack and provided names of accomplices currently being pursued by the Police. The statement revealed that suspect Yaw Bamuah confessed to his involvement in the attack, identifying several accomplices, including Anuda Borour, Pobiye, Bitunor Sansa, and James Sanyuah. These individuals are reportedly still at large and are being sought by the authorities. The attack was allegedly carried out in retaliation for the killing of a relative, believed to have been targeted by robbers suspected to be Fulanis. Further investigations l ed the police to Bamuah's residence, where they recovered a weapon and ammunition. The police retrieved a single-barrel shotgun with serial number BAT 2598-88 and two live AAA cartridges from a concealed spot within the compound. The suspects remain in police custody as they assist with ongoing investigations and are expected to be presented in court. Efforts continue to apprehend other individuals connected to the incident.
