Rev. Odame Supports Nyankumasi Ahenkro Eid-ul-Fitr Celebration

Nyankumasi ahenkro: Reverend Kojo Odame, Executive Director of Kojo Odame Mission (KOMA), has extended his generosity to the Muslim community by donating a variety of food items, cash, and other packages to Alhaji Saeed Yussif Shaiba, Chief Imam of the Muslim Confederation, in support of the Eid-ul-Fitr celebration.

According to Ghana News Agency, the donated items include bags of rice, cooking oil, assorted drinks, and bottled water, valued at approximately GHS14,000.00. Rev. Odame expressed that, having been raised by a Muslim, he felt it appropriate to share in the celebration's joy. He emphasized the unity between Muslims and Christians, highlighting that both communities serve one God and should coexist in peace and love.

Rev. Odame remarked that the occasion, marked by fasting, increased prayers, and charity, is a significant period for spiritual renewal, reflection, and community development. He also addressed the issue of road safety, urging the youth to exercise discipline on the roads, as motorcycle-related crashes are a leading cause of road fatalities.

Alhaji Shaiba, upon receiving the items, expressed gratitude to Rev. Odame for his support and prayed for Allah's blessings for the continued growth of KOMA and its impact in the Assin South District and beyond. The Eid-ul-Fitr celebration saw Muslims gathering at the mosque with vibrant scenes of families and vendors participating in the festivities.

The Chief Imam recited Quranic verses, with the crowd responding in unison. He also reminded public officials that leadership is a responsibility entrusted by God to serve the people, urging them to prioritize citizens' welfare over personal interests.
