Accra: More than nine million Jehovah's Witnesses around the world are inviting the public to two events designed to educate the community about the Bible's promise of a better future.
According to Ghana News Agency, these events include the annual observance of the Lord's Evening Meal on the evening of Thursday, April 2, 2026, and a Special Public Talk titled 'Who Will Restore the Earth?' set for Sunday, March 29, 2026. Both events are free and open to the public, hosted by the Jehovah's Witnesses as part of a global initiative.
A release from Accra, signed by Mr. Daniel Adashie of the Public Information Department of the Ghana Branch Office of Jehovah's Witnesses, announced the commencement of a campaign to invite the public to these events. The campaign aims to offer hope during times of growing global anxiety and tension. The Lord's Evening Meal will focus on the teachings of Jesus regarding the future of humanity, emphasizing the enduring significance of his life and teachings.
Mr. Adashie expressed the hope that the event, which has been observed by Christians for nearly two millennia, will provide attendees with the strength to face life's uncertainties and inspire hope for the future. The Special Talk, 'Who Will Restore the Earth?', will reach over 118,000 congregations worldwide, discussing mankind's relationship with the earth, its future restoration, and the benefits of understanding the Bible's promises.
The release highlighted the historical context of the Lord's Evening Meal, noting its origins almost 2,000 years ago on Nisan 14 of the Jewish calendar in 33 C.E., when Jesus instituted the meal with his apostles. The event serves as an annual reminder of the biblical hope for a restored earth, as commanded by Jesus in Luke 22:19.
