Ulsan: Madam Yaa Serwaa Alifo, Managing Director of Asharami Ghana, has expressed her appreciation for the commissioning of the Sahara Group Liquified Petroleum Gas (LPG) Vessel, named Asharami Ghana, by President John Dramani Mahama in Ulsan, South Korea. The commissioning is part of President Mahama's five-day working visit to South Korea.
According to Ghana News Agency, Madam Alifo emphasized that the commissioning of the LPG Vessel is a strategic investment that strengthens Ghana's downstream petroleum infrastructure and enhances national energy security. She stated that the vessel symbolizes more than just capacity at sea, as it represents confidence in Ghana's growth, regulatory framework, and the long-term sustainability of the downstream sector.
The Managing Director highlighted that by expanding LPG storage and distribution capabilities, Asharami Ghana aims to improve supply reliability, strengthen market stability, and position the country to meet rising demand driven by industrial growth and clean cooking initiatives. She noted that this investment aligns with President Mahama's vision of building a resilient and sustainable downstream sector that promotes cleaner energy solutions while ensuring accessibility and security of supply for Ghanaian households and businesses.
Madam Alifo acknowledged the leadership of Ghana's Minister of Energy and the National Petroleum Authority of Ghana for maintaining regulatory discipline, which she believes is essential for sustainable sector growth.
