Accra: Two Members of Parliament have become the focus of public discourse on social media in Ghana, following revelations about their personal lives that have stirred conversations throughout the week.
According to Ghana Web, First Deputy Majority Whip of Ghana's Parliament and Member of Parliament for the Ada Constituency, Comfort Doyoe Cudjoe-Ghansah, shared insights into her romantic history, revealing that she was married at a very young age. Cudjoe-Ghansah disclosed that she gave birth to her first child at the age of 19, emphasizing that it was not a teenage pregnancy. She further stated that she had no romantic relationships before her marriage, asserting, "No man in Ghana can point a finger at me and say I was his former girlfriend. The worst anyone can say is that I was a former wife."
In contrast, Vincent Ekow Assafuah, the Member of Parliament for Old Tafo Constituency, recently exchanged vows with his partner, Dr Charis, in a private ceremony. The event, shared by The1957News, reportedly brought together close family and friends in a serene atmosphere. However, the celebration has been overshadowed by allegations from a female TikTok content creator, who claimed to have dated the MP.
The content creator recounted an outing with Assafuah, during which she questioned him about his marital status and whether he had children. She described the date as pleasant, noting that the MP paid the bill, but also alleged that he stepped away during the date to take an urgent phone call. The woman claimed that their initial interactions were promising but later blocked the MP after he allegedly made an inappropriate request.
The TikTok creator further disclosed that she only discovered Assafuah's marital status through social media, which has fueled online discussions about the MP's personal life.
