Accra: Bliss Divine Agbeko, the Moderator of the General Assembly of the Evangelical Presbyterian Church, Ghana, has urged society to foster an environment where children are valued, loved, and supported. 'Let us cherish and nurture our children, guide them in their spiritual journeys and help them grow in faith and love,' he emphasized.
According to Ghana News Agency, Rt. Rev. Dr. Lt. Col. Agbeko delivered this message as part of a goodwill address to mark the Church's Children Ministry Week celebration, themed 'Cleanliness is next to Godliness! Keep clean.' He highlighted the importance of children as precious gifts to parents, the Church, and society, and called for a recognition of their potential and the significant roles they play within communities.
Agbeko further encouraged society to cultivate children's curiosity, inspire their dreams, and instil core values such as honesty, patriotism, obedience, and chastity. He also stressed the importance of teaching children about environmental cleanliness and personal hygiene, suggesting that these values would contribute to a society free of litter around water bodies and communities.
Expressing gratitude to God for the gift of children, Agbeko urged young ones to believe in themselves and trust in God's blessings. The Children Ministry Week celebration commenced in all congregations of the Church on March 8, featuring activities like talk shows, symposiums, debates, hymn and prayer sessions, and clean-up exercises. The event is set to conclude with a thanksgiving and fundraising service across all congregations on March 15.
