Kwame-danso: The Sector Four Women's Fellowship of the Midwest Conference of the Seventh Day Adventist Church (SDA) has donated toiletries to Kwame-Danso Senior High and Technical School in the Bono East Region.
According to Ghana News Agency, the donation, valued at GHC14,158.00, included 110 packs of toilet rolls, 22 boxes of soap, and 49 packs of sanitary pads. At a ceremony held at the school, Grace Owusu, Vice President of the fellowship, explained that the gesture is part of the sector's social responsibility program aimed at supporting vulnerable students, particularly girls, to focus on their studies. She mentioned that the items were procured through contributions from the fellowship members.
"Girl-child education is essential for building a better life. Providing basic necessities such as sanitary pads helps support their academic journey," Owusu stated, urging students to remain studious.
Osman Murtala, the Assistant Headmaster in charge of administration, expressed gratitude for the timely donation. However, he highlighted the school's acute water shortage and incomplete dining and assembly hall projects, appealing to the government for assistance to address these issues.
Nagara Fynn, the boys' prefect, also expressed appreciation to the fellowship and called for additional support to create a more conducive environment for teaching and learning.
