Accra: Minority Leader in Parliament, Alexander Kwamena Afenyo-Markin, has shared insights from a significant conversation with former President John Agyekum Kufuor at his residence. In an exclusive interview on UTV, Afenyo-Markin revealed that Kufuor urged him and other members to pray for the New Patriotic Party (NPP) to foster unity and resolve internal conflicts.
According to Ghana Web, the conversation, which extended for over two hours, highlighted Kufuor's deep understanding of the party's philosophy. Afenyo-Markin recounted Kufuor's words, stating, "Yesternight, I was with President Kufuor. We spoke for about two hours. You could see that the man had a firm grasp on the party's philosophy. He said, Markin, we have to pray because the party has good intentions."
During the interview, Afenyo-Markin, who also serves as the Member of Parliament for Effutu, emphasized that many of the interventions and initiatives currently benefiting Ghanaians can be attributed to former President Kufuor. He specifically cited the introduction of free education as one of Kufuor's major contributions to the nation.
