Accra: Pursuant to the two resolutions adopted at the ninth annual meeting of the GITFiC in Accra in 2025, GITFiC has established an admission committee for the AfCFTA professional course.
According to Ghana News Agency, the resolutions tasked the committee with expanding the study of the AfCFTA Curriculum to include professionals and practitioners across Ghana and the broader African continent under the GITFiC-AfCFTA Professional Course. The initiative aims to reach individuals at various educational levels, including pre-tertiary, undergraduate, and postgraduate students from all sectors.
Additionally, the committee is responsible for developing and submitting an AfCFTA Curriculum tailored specifically for Africa's High School Structure. This curriculum is intended to run concurrently with the existing AfCFTA Curriculum for Africa's Tertiary Institutions, ensuring a comprehensive educational framework.
In compliance with the mandates under the GITFiC Agenda 2031, GITFiC has constituted an ethics and admissions committee. This committee has the authority to enforce strict adherence to the AfCFTA Professional Course regulations, safeguarding academic standards and the welfare of students and facilitators.
The statement further notes that Dr. Michael Kusi-Appiah from the National Development Planning Commission will chair the committee. Other members include Dr. Samuel Antwi from the Information Service Department, under the office of the president, and Madam Patience Arko-Boham from the Ministry of Finance.
