Ketu south: Mr Richard Fidel Agbeko Bedi, the Headmaster of Klikor Senior High Technical School (KLISTECH), has appealed for support to address the school's pressing infrastructure issues, including a severe shortage of furniture and outdated facilities. He highlighted the challenge of accommodating a student population of 1,001 with only 466 pieces of furniture available, leaving 550 students without proper seating for lessons. According to Ghana News Agency, Mr Bedi made this appeal during the inauguration of the school's reconstituted Board of Directors. He emphasized KLISTECH's significant role in the lives of students and the community, describing the school as a beacon of hope and a catalyst for development. The headmaster reiterated the commitment of the management and staff to providing quality education and skills training to empower students in their careers. Mr Bedi stated that achieving these educational goals requires external support, urging stakeholders to provide necessary resources, guidanc e, and mentorship. He pointed out that despite the school's 35-year history, it lacks the resources that even much newer schools possess. He called upon friends, well-wishers, and partners to continue supporting their mission of delivering quality education and skills training. Torgbui Tsifokpe III, Chief of Klikor Afuta and a member of the newly inaugurated board, pledged to address these challenges and enhance the school's performance. He expressed concern over the headmaster's report on the insufficient furniture, the limited number of computers, and the school's poor performance in the West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE), with only a 10 percent pass rate over the years. Torgbui Tsifokpe encouraged students to prioritize their education, describing it as a valuable investment with lasting benefits, and urged teachers to strive for improved results. Some students expressed excitement to Ghana News Agency about the Board's decision to establish a guidance and counselling week each t erm. They believe this initiative will help reorient them and boost their confidence levels.
