Accra: The 2028 Flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, has committed to an unwavering effort to return the party to power, asserting that he "will not sleep at all" in the quest for victory. Dr. Bawumia expressed this determination during a speech on February 10, 2025, when NPP working groups visited him following his triumph in the party's internal elections.
According to Ghana Web, Dr. Bawumia highlighted his resolve to work continuously for the party's success. He acknowledged the confidence placed in him by the party members and promised to labor diligently to secure victory for the NPP in the 2028 elections. He emphasized the importance of unity, recalling the internal divisions that led to the party's defeat in 2024.
Dr. Bawumia credited the party members' actions for fortifying the NPP and preventing adversaries from exploiting issues ahead of the upcoming election. He stressed that unity among party members is crucial for achieving victory, noting that the party's loss in 2024 was partly due to some members not supporting the party.
The 2028 Flagbearer called for collective support, urging all supporters to unite behind him to reclaim power. Dr. Bawumia's message was clear: cohesion and relentless effort will be key to the NPP's success in the next election cycle.
