Dodi-papase: The Dodi-Papase Senior High Technical School (DOPASS) in the Kadjebi District of the Oti Region is gearing up for this year's Students Representative Council (SRC) Week with a series of educational, social, and health-oriented activities.
According to Ghana News Agency, the week-long event is set to kick off on Wednesday, February 11, with activities such as a clean-up exercise, cadet drill, and inter-house games aimed at promoting discipline, teamwork, and environmental cleanliness among the students.
Thursday, February 12, will see students participating in an inter-house quiz, a health walk, and a health screening exercise, all designed to enhance academic excellence and encourage healthy living. Mr. Sitsofe Amemor, SRC Patron and Assistant Headmaster in charge of Academic Affairs, shared these details during an interview in Kadjebi.
He further mentioned that Friday, February 13, will feature the 'DOPASS Goes Professional' programme, which includes career guidance sessions, a Miss and Mr. DOPASS pageant, and a float through the principal streets of Dodi-Papase to showcase the school to the public.
The celebration will conclude on Saturday, February 14, with a grand durbar on the school campus. This event is expected to attract several dignitaries, including the Oti Regional Minister, Mr. John Kwadwo Gyapong; the Oti Regional Director of Education, Mrs. Irene Jacquelinda Attabra; the Kadjebi District Chief Executive, Dr. Sam Issaka Suraj; the Member of Parliament for Akan Constituency, Mr. Yao Gomado; along with traditional authorities, education officials, and other stakeholders.
Mr. Amemor emphasized that the SRC Week aims to foster unity, leadership, and responsible citizenship among students while strengthening the relationship between the school and the neighboring communities. He expressed optimism that the activities would be well-attended and appealed to parents, alumni, and the public to support the programme to ensure its success.
