This plea was made during Annoh-Dompreh's contribution to the presentation of the Business Statement for the upcoming week, delivered by the Majority Leader, Mahama Ayariga.
According to Ghana Web, Annoh-Dompreh emphasized the sharp rise in the prices of essential commodities, including staples such as yam, gari, and tomatoes. He stressed the necessity for government intervention to address the growing economic pressures on citizens. Annoh-Dompreh remarked on the urgency of the situation, stating, "I think we should program the finance minister to come and brief the House on the measures taken to curb this," highlighting the critical need for prompt action to address public concerns. He also noted Dr. Forson's previous engagements with market stakeholders, emphasizing the importance of his direct interactions with communities like the Makola market.
