Adding to that list is veteran musician Rex Omar, who now serves as a Presidential staffer for the Black Star Experience. He has disclosed that he began his career as a Gospel artiste, with his first three albums being Gospel albums.

The veteran artist shared that his decision stemmed from an experience he had with his church when he sought financial support for studio time. He recounted how his church, Assemblies of God, declined to fund his studio time after discussions with the church board, marking a pivotal moment in his career.
Rex Omar elaborated on how this experience influenced his decision to leave the church and seek financial support from what he described as 'worldly people.' His reasoning was clear: if he received financial backing from outside the church, he would not use it to record Gospel music. He questioned the support system within the church, highlighting the financial benefits pastors receive and contrasting it with the lack of support for his musical talent.
