Accra: Some Ghanaian prophets made bold proclamations predicting victory for former Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia ahead of the 2026 New Patriotic Party (NPP) primaries. These prophets claimed it had been divinely revealed to them that no matter the circumstances, Dr Bawumia would emerge victorious and surpass his opponents. Their proclamations have since come to pass, as the former vice president convincingly won the race for the second time in a row.
According to Ghana Web, several prophets had previously declared Dr Bawumia's triumph in the NPP primaries. Prophet Nigel Gaisie prophesied that Dr Bawumia would snatch victory from another contender, whom he referred to as "Mr Tesite." He described a vision where the Spirit of God revealed Dr Bawumia taking the win that was seemingly meant for Mr Tesite.
Prophet Eric Boahen Uche, the Founder and Leader of Reign House Chapel, also proclaimed that Dr Bawumia would win the primaries. He emphasized that Dr Bawumia's victory was already assured and questioned whether Kennedy Agyapong could alter this outcome with only 31 days to the elections.
Prophet Samuel Henry, known as Prophet Roja, encouraged Bawumia's supporters to celebrate, predicting that he would win because the rightful victor did not show responsibility. Prophet Emmanuel Worlasi of Conquerors Chapel in Kumasi similarly declared a decisive victory for Dr Bawumia, projecting a wide margin win across 14 out of 16 regions, including the Ashanti Region.
The General Overseer of Realm of Light Church, Prophet William Braham, expected Dr Bawumia to secure about 70 percent of the total votes cast. Similarly, Prophet Telvin Sowah Adjei foresaw Dr Bawumia defeating Ken Agyapong in the January 2026 primaries. Lastly, Prophet Elijah Kofi King affirmed that Bawumia would become the NPP flagbearer following the primaries.
These prophetic declarations have indeed materialized, as Dr Bawumia emerged victorious in the NPP primaries, fulfilling the predictions made by these religious figures.
