Accra: About 12,360 delegates of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Volta Region are expected to vote in the party’s presidential primaries on Saturday, January 31. Mr Makafui Kofi Woanya, Volta Regional Chairman of the NPP, confirmed that all arrangements had been finalized to ensure a smooth and credible process.
According to Ghana News Agency, the Electoral Commission will conduct the exercise, with the Ghana Police Service providing security before, during, and after the polls. Mr Woanya stated that campaigning by aspirants would officially end on January 29, in line with party rules, expressing confidence in a peaceful exercise across the region.
Nationwide, approximately 211,849 delegates are expected to participate in the primaries. The event is being coordinated by Mr Joseph Osei-Owusu, Chairman of the party’s Presidential Elections Committee.
