Accra: The Chamber of Digital Assets and Blockchain Innovation (CDABI) recently hosted a delegation from the Cambridge Centre for Alternative Finance (CCAF) in Accra to discuss advancements in digital asset regulation. According to Ghana News Agency, the visit, which focused on digital assets, payments, and regulatory innovation, saw international researchers and industry leaders gather to exchange views on Ghana's evolving digital asset landscape. The discussions centered around the country's recent regulatory milestones, implementation priorities, and the practical steps necessary to translate policy clarity into market activity that is both safe and scalable. The meeting featured key figures such as Mr Caleb Kwaku Afaglo, President of the Chamber, Mr Kofi Genfi, Technical Director at the Chamber, and Mr Johnson Olakunmi, Digital Finance Consultant at Omnibsic. The engagement was enriched by a blend of policy, technical, and market perspectives, contributing to a comprehensive dialogue. A significant ou tcome of the meeting was a shared interest in developing a joint initiative to create a gold standard framework for Anti-Money Laundering (AML) officers in Ghana. This proposed collaboration aims to enhance compliance capacity across the digital asset ecosystem while establishing pathways for young entrepreneurs and graduates to gain recognised training, certification, and practical exposure. Mr Afaglo emphasized the necessity of setting clear and credible standards for compliance professionals to foster trust, inclusion, and long-term market integrity as Ghana transitions from passing laws to building real capacity. The engagement also explored wider opportunities for collaboration in research, skills development, and responsible innovation, highlighting Ghana's increasing importance in global discussions on digital asset regulation and financial integrity.
