Accra: This year's Pan African AI and Innovation Summit (PAAIS 2026) will focus on reimagining education from mere literacy to digital skills and innovation. Building on the outcomes of the inaugural PAAIS 2025 hosted in Accra, the 2026 summit is being repositioned as a delivery-oriented platform, shifting from awareness creation to measurable economic outcomes. According to Ghana News Agency, a press release from Mr. Felix Donkor, the Summit Lead, indicated that the summit served as a bridge between vision and the realization of youth potential. By participating, organizations would gain access to a hands-on digital learning ecosystem during the summit, which would be a converging point where policy, infrastructure, and youth empowerment would turn vision into practice and prosperity. 'PAAIS 2026 is designed to help bridge that divide by creating structured linkages between local innovators, regional employers, and global investors,' the release stated. It mentioned that following recent directives from th e Minister of Education, the country was shifting from the 'chalk and talk' era towards a future defined by ethical AI, robotics, and responsible innovation. The release further noted that Africa's youthful population remained one of its greatest economic assets, yet a persistent gap continued to separate talent from opportunity. 'The data suggests that if we do not rewrite our educational and digital history now, we risk missing the Intelligent Age. We'll miss the new wave of innovation and technology as a nation and a continent,' the release added. The summit is slated for September 22-23, 2026, at the Kempinski Hotel, Accra.
