Accra: The Global Chapter of the Anlo Senior High School Old Students Association (ANSSOSA-GLOBAL) has generously donated 150 mono desks to their alma mater. This contribution aims to alleviate the infrastructural and logistical pressures the school faces due to a significant increase in student enrollment.
According to Ghana News Agency, the donation is valued at approximately GHS 60,000 and was spearheaded by Mr. Gabriel Agbanyo and Reverend Selorm Deyegbe, members of the Electoral Committee Board of ANSSOSA, alongside other executives. Mr. Agbanyo highlighted that this initiative is a deliberate effort by the alumni to support Anlo Senior High School (ANSECO) as it copes with the demands of increased student numbers, particularly the resulting strain on classroom furniture and learning resources. He emphasized that the desks would improve seating arrangements, enhance classroom comfort, and foster a conducive teaching and learning environment.
Receiving the donation, Headmaster Mr. Newman Dzieadzorve expressed his gratitude to ANSSOSA-GLOBAL, noting the timeliness and impact of the support. He remarked, "Our increased enrolment under the Free SHS policy has placed immense strain on our infrastructure. These mono desks will immediately improve classroom conditions and enhance effective teaching and learning."
Reverend Selorm Deyegbe reaffirmed the association's dedication to ANSECO's development and the welfare of its students. He stated, "As old students, we recognize the challenges schools face due to growing student populations, particularly in infrastructure and logistics. This donation is our contribution to ensuring students learn in a dignified and supportive environment, and we remain committed to doing more whenever the need arises."
Beyond the desk donation, the alumni group inspected ongoing projects, including a proposed site for a female washroom facility led by the ANSSOSA-2011 Year Group. This initiative is intended to promote hygiene, privacy, and dignity, contributing to a healthier and more inclusive school environment.
In discussions with school management, staff, and students, the alumni pledged to mobilize further support, working towards the shared objective of elevating ANSECO to one of the leading senior high schools in the Volta Region.
Anlo Senior High School is recognized for its academic excellence and notable achievements in co-curricular activities. With ongoing collaboration between alumni, school authorities, and stakeholders, the school is poised to benefit from infrastructural improvements and resources that enhance the quality of education.
