Abease: Mr Stephen Azorba Awuni, the Dormaa West District Chief Executive (DCE) in the Bono Region, has announced notable progress in providing potable drinking water to deprived communities within the district. He acknowledged President John Dramani Mahama for facilitating the release of the District Assembly Common Fund (DACF), which has been instrumental in extending water coverage.
According to Ghana News Agency, Mr Awuni highlighted the construction of 20 boreholes as part of the district's efforts to enhance water accessibility. He assured that further projects would be undertaken this year to continue improving the district's water coverage. Currently, only 47 out of the 99 major communities still require similar water supply solutions, and Mr Awuni pledged to ensure all deprived areas gain access to clean water.
Mr Awuni also addressed the challenge of poor road conditions in the area. He expressed hope that the implementation of the government's 'Big Push' road infrastructure project would lead to improvements, reshaping the bad roads that remain a significant development hurdle.
