Oti Minister Unveils Ambitious 2026 Agenda to Transform Region

Dambai: Mr John Kwadwo Gyapong, the Oti Regional Minister, has unveiled an ambitious agenda for 2026, aiming to transform the region's economy and improve the lives of its residents. According to Ghana News Agency, the plans include the construction of airstrips, military barracks, a modern fish market, and a bridge over River Oti in Dambai. Additionally, the government plans to establish a Regional Hospital, a university, and several farm centers. Mr Gyapong highlighted the construction of the Pepesu-Nkwanta Road under the Big Push initiative, as well as two irrigation projects covering about 24,200 hectares. These projects are expected to boost economic activities, create jobs, and improve access to essential services. Speaking to the Ghana News Agency, the Minister expressed confidence that the projects would have a significant impact on the region's development. He remarked that the government's efforts in 2026 alone would earn applause for President Mahama's government. The transformation of the Oti R egion is part of the government's Big Push Agenda, a $10 billion initiative aimed at accelerating economic growth, creating employment opportunities, and raising the standard of living across the area.
