Dzodze: The Ketu North Municipal Assembly recently conducted a public hearing in Dzodze to discuss its Draft Medium-Term Development Plan (MTDP) for 2026-2029. This initiative is part of the Assembly's efforts to promote inclusive and transparent development planning within the municipality.
According to Ghana News Agency, the public hearing was led by Reverend Martin Amenaki, the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE). This meeting represents a crucial phase in the statutory development planning process, aiming to align the municipality's medium-term objectives with national development goals and the aspirations of the local community.
During the hearing, members of the Municipal Planning Team delivered comprehensive presentations covering aspects such as the planning framework, a situational analysis of the municipality, and identification of development challenges and opportunities. They also outlined priority areas, strategic goals, proposed programs and projects, annual action plans, as well as monitoring and evaluation mechanisms to ensure accountability and track implementation.
The event highlighted the Assembly's dedication to evidence-based planning, robust institutional coordination, and effective governance, focusing on delivering measurable and sustainable development outcomes. Rev. Amenaki commended the level of participation and the constructive input from the community, which he noted reflects a growing public interest in influencing the municipality's development path.
He assured attendees that their feedback and suggestions would be carefully considered and integrated into the final MTDP document where appropriate. The MCE emphasized the Assembly's commitment to inclusive governance and ongoing stakeholder engagement, stating that the successful execution of the Plan would rely on continued cooperation among the Assembly, traditional authorities, development partners, and the public.
The finalized 2026-2029 Medium-Term Development Plan is anticipated to provide a guiding framework for development initiatives, resource mobilization, and service delivery across Ketu North Municipality over the next four years, with the ultimate goal of improving residents' livelihoods and quality of life.
Participants were encouraged to voice their questions, recommendations, and concerns on critical thematic areas such as education, health, road infrastructure, water and sanitation, job creation, local economic development, and environmental management. The forum was attended by traditional leaders, assembly members, heads of decentralized departments, representatives from civil society organizations, youth and women's groups, faith-based organizations, and residents from throughout the municipality.
