Former Deputy Upper West Regional Minister, Abu Kansangbata has showered John Dramani Mahama with praise following the NDC flagbearer's recent media engagement, rating his performance a flawless 10 out of 10. In a statement copied to the Ghana News Agency, Kansangbata expressed deep satisfaction with the clarity and effectiveness of Mahama's communication. "I was very pleased with how John Mahama explained the 24-hour economy policy, His articulation of this initiative, which promises to transform the economy and provide jobs for the youth, was exceptional", he added. Highlighting the policy's potential to transform Ghana's economic future, Kansangbata underscored Mahama's commitment to offering tax incentives aimed at boosting local production, particularly in sectors such as pharmaceuticals. According to him, the strategic move would help Ghana achieve self-sufficiency without relying heavily on imports. Kansangbata also emphasised the critical importance of constitutional review. "The review of the Constitution is crucial, and I am pleased that a future NDC government under John Mahama will make this a priority," he remarked. Looking ahead to the 2024 elections, he urged all Ghanaians to rally behind John Mahama, citing his leadership and vision as indispensable for Ghana's advancement. He said: "It is worrying that the government has allowed a large number of businesses to register with the ECG without apparent scrutiny or regulation. "The presence of numerous enterprises with potentially generic names raises questions about oversight and accountability." The proposed 24-hour economy by the NDC aims to boost Ghana's economy by encouraging businesses to operate round-the-clock. It focuses on creating jobs through sectors like agriculture, manufacturing, and services, supported by incentives such as tax breaks and reliable electricity. The policy draws inspiration from global models in countries like the United States, the United Kingdom, Germany, and Australia, where similar strategies have succes sfully stimulated economic activity and job growth.
