Accra: The CEO of high-end luxury fashion brand Savile Row Ghana, Nana Sarfo, has made a bold claim about the state of the fashion retail market in Ghana. According to him, the overwhelming majority of brands operating in the country are not selling authentic products.
According to Ghana Web, Sarfo spoke on an episode of the Revealed Show, where he refrained from naming specific brands but insisted that the market is saturated with fake products. "In Ghana, 99.9% of brands are not original. Believe me. I won't lie to you. I don't want to spoil somebody's business. But I tell the truth," he emphasized. The prevalence of counterfeit goods has reportedly made Sarfo's journey as a seller of genuine products particularly challenging, as many customers express skepticism over the authenticity of his offerings.
"It's not easy to sell such a brand in Ghana and go further. A lot of people don't believe that I sell originals. Because here, a lot of people travel and buy," Sarfo explained. Despite the hurdles, he attributes his success to persistence and faith, which have helped him build a reputation for selling authentic products.
"I faced a lot of challenges, but by God's grace, I have become like this. It's not easy. But I thank God that now everybody can see, anyone who comes here can see that I sell authentic brands," Sarfo concluded.
