Wassa kyeikrom: Residents of Wassa Kyeikrom in the Western Region have been left in shock after a 26-year-old miner, identified as Peter Okyere, allegedly cut off his genitals following a confrontation with his landlord.
According to Ghana Web, the incident occurred on May 8, 2026, when the victim entered his landlord's room carrying a metal object. During the encounter, he began asking unusual questions about how to make money while complaining about hardships. Shortly afterwards, he reportedly returned to his own room and inflicted severe injuries on himself.
The landlord reported that the victim, Peter Okyere, acted strangely during their interaction, which included asking peculiar questions about finances. Following the confrontation, Okyere allegedly mutilated himself by cutting off his penis and testicles.
The victim is currently receiving treatment at Green Shield Hospital in Sefwi Bekwai under police supervision. Authorities have launched an investigation to understand the circumstances surrounding the incident and the motivations behind Okyere's drastic actions.
