Accra: The Head of Public Events and Communications at Charterhouse Ghana, Robert Klah, has announced that the venue constraints for the 2026 Telecel Ghana Music Awards (TGMA) will have a substantial effect on ticket sales, the number of guests, and media access.
According to Ghana Web, Klah discussed the issue on Starr Showbiz on Starr 103.5 FM, explaining that although organizers are working to secure a venue for the event, they have yet to find a 'preferred venue' that fulfills the production and logistical needs of the awards. He emphasized that the lack of an ideal venue will inevitably impact crucial aspects of the event's execution.
Klah pointed out that the number of guests and media accreditations will need to be reduced due to capacity constraints, significantly affecting ticket sales as well. If they previously sold 500 tickets, the current situation may force them to sell as few as 100 to 200 tickets. He also noted that priority for attendance would be given to artists and their teams, which would leave limited space for other guests and stakeholders.
Klah further elaborated that the absence of a suitable venue will not only constrain seating capacity but also affect logistical arrangements such as parking and accessibility, which are vital for large-scale events like the TGMA. Despite these challenges, he assured that Charterhouse has contingency plans to ensure the event's success.
He confirmed that production quality would remain high, as the event organizers are committed to delivering a superb show. Charterhouse intends to put in the best efforts to maintain the standard of the TGMA, even in the face of these logistical challenges.
