Accra: In a move set to advocate for the arts sector and commemorate the 2026 Ghana Heritage Month, the Creative Arts Agency and the Ghana Library Authority, in collaboration with state agencies and creative associations, have announced a series of activities under the 'Ghana Arts Experience'. This initiative aims to offer Ghanaians and tourists a glimpse into the vibrant world of Ghanaian arts.
According to Ghana Web, the 'Ghana Arts Experience' will encompass a wide range of artistic domains, from performing arts to visual and audio-visual arts. It will serve as a platform to showcase Ghana's tangible and intangible heritage through both indigenous and contemporary arts. Themed 'Ghana, through the lens of the artists', the project is a collaborative effort involving the Creative Arts Agency of Ghana, Ghana Library Authority, Ghana Museums and Monuments Board, and several other cultural organizations and associations.
Scheduled to take place in the last two weeks of March, the event will feature activities such as the Inspire the Art-in-Me Tour, Art Exhibition, Fashion meets Culture: a walk show and conversation, the Ghana Concert Party Experience, Cine' in the Street, Ghana Literary Experience, Skin Roars and Movements, The Arts Conversation, and Rhythmz of our Land. Gideon Aryeequaye, the Acting Executive Secretary of the Creative Arts Agency and a lead host of the project, stated that details of these activities will be revealed at a special event.
In a separate statement, Aryeequaye mentioned that the Ghana Arts Experience is intended to become an annual event, serving as a prelude to the grand celebrations of Ghana at 70.
