The EMY Africa Awards is held annually to honor personalities who have demonstrated good values, distinguished themselves in their diverse fields of endeavor, and are committed to societal progress.
The last five editions have been very successful in bringing together some great and distinguished men and women in Ghana and beyond. This 6th edition, scheduled for October 2021, will be no different.
This year’s award activities kicked off with the “Treat Her Right” campaign on Mother’s Day. The Treat Her Right project is a gender intervention initiative that calls society, particularly men, to order in matters concerning the welfare and security of women.
The Prudential Life Greatness Walk will be the next activity after the launch of the awards and it is scheduled for Saturday, 7th August 2021 at the Aviation Social Center. Here, people can join EMY Africa Awards winners, nominees, sponsors and stakeholders, and their favorite celebrities for a walk and fun activities. Register to participate for free via – prudential.com.gh. The walk starts at 6 am.
Also lined up is The Journey of the EMY Spaceman project, the Inspiring Moments Series, and the Inspiring Greatness Series.
The nominees of the competitive categories for the 6th EMY Africa Awards 2021 were announced at the official launch event on Saturday. The EMY Awards Faculty President in his speech encouraged people to vote for their favorite nominees as the voting lines have been officially opened. He furthered stated that the winners of the honorary award categories would be announced on the main awards night.
The EMY Awards Faculty also announced the introduction of new awards categories this year. What was hitherto, the Man of the Year – Entertainment Award has been broken down into the following:

Scoring will be 40 percent for public and 60 percent technical made up of expert and faculty votes. This process will be managed and supervised by our event statisticians – EY Ghana.
EMY Africa Awards has also partnered with Fan Milk to present the “Business for Good Award”, an honorary award presented to an individual who operates a small business (micro & SME) and uses the business to make a positive impact in the community.
