Accra,– Mr. Henry Quartey, the Greater Accra Regional Minister, on Wednesday signed books of condolence for Mr.
Nat Nunoo Amartefio and Mr. Solomon Osei Darko, two former Mayors of the Accra Metropolitan Assembly (AMA).
He was accompanied by the Chief Director of the Greater Accra Regional Co-coordinating council and some staff.
The books, opened by the Assembly in memory of the two, was earlier signed by Madam Elizabeth Kwatsoe Tawiah Sackey, the Chief Executive of AMA.
Madam Jennifer Dede Adjabeng, the Municipal Chief Executive of La-Nkwantanang Madina, Mr. Aminu MZ, Municipal Chief Executive of Ayawaso North, Mr. George Cyril Bray, Municipal Chief Executive of Ablekuma West and Mr. Samuel James Nii Adjei Tawiah, Municipal Chief Executive for Korle Klottey, all signed the books.
The late Nunoo Amartefio and Darko died on December 20 and 31, respectively, in Accra.
Mr. Nat Nunoo Amartefio was appointed the Mayor of Accra between 1994 and 1998 during former late President Jerry John Rawlings’ administration.
He was born in 1943 and died at the age of 79.
Mr. Solomon Osei Darko was born on January 1936 and died at the age of 85.
He served as AMA Boss under the Kufuor administration from 2001-2003.
