Did you hear about the new brunch and network event that took place last Saturday? It was hosted by Apples & Pears with the intention to connect entrepreneurs in Accra, as well as those from all over the world. The main goal was to create an in-person and virtual space to support entrepreneurs in the building of sustainable businesses.
For those just starting out in the business world and needing that extra support, this is just the type of event that can support you and really catapult you forward. An appreciative attendee reflected on the proceedings, “I must admit, it was very insightful and the energy was positively charged up. In all thought…it was a great pleasure meeting everyone.”
Indeed the atmosphere was eclectic, warm, inviting, buzzing with excitement in anticipation of this launch. Sparkling with energy, just so, as this was the very first launch of an event of this kind for Apples & Pears. This exciting event coincided with the Ladies Entrepreneur Group, the essential boot camp to empower businesswomen and female entrepreneurs through mentorship, networking, and skills-building to help take them to the next level.
Indeed, the participating speakers embraced and enjoyed everything the event had to offer, Dr. Ashley Milton spoke of the event, “I feel like I have sisterhood in Ghana after this weekend. So I just want to keep the same energy in motion and wish all you ladies a wonderful and productive week!
As the grind continues, I pray for our collective strength and tenacity as we continue to show up, ready, capable, and as our full selves in the many hats that we wear. And that we have a sisterhood of Queens that will help fix our crowns when they get shifted as they sometimes do.”
Topics that were covered by the vivacious speakers included, “How to Design a Sustainable Business Model Post Covid”, presented by Tonisha Tagoe, and “How to Design a Life You Will Love”, presented by Vanessa Gyan & Mina Evans-Anfom. An excited attendee commented about the overall event, “It was educational and I got a chance to get to know new people. Above it all, it was a beautiful experience.”
Attendees had the opportunity to purchase products from an array of vendors on-site (with Ghanaian-made products), as well as indulge in the delight of a three-course meal and complimentary drink. Tonisha Tagoe, the owner of Apples and Pears and creator of this Brunch and Learn the concept, said of the event, “I think this event was essential and was very much needed for our community of entrepreneurs. All attendees have had the opportunity to be a vendor, which can help boost business. Register as soon as possible for this aspect. We also provide good opportunities for vendors to receive training.”

The Brunch and Learn Series was initially established online and has now grown into an all involving, in-person, hybrid event, mixing the element of brunch with business knowledge. This inaugural event connected entrepreneurs in Accra, digitally to entrepreneurs all over the world.
