Saltpond (C/R) Nov 25, GNA – T he Addison International Center for Emotional Intelligence (AIECI) and its partners have honoured Daasebre Kwebu Ewusi VII, Paramount Chief of Abeadze Traditional Area, as Chief Emotional Intelligence Coach.
The honour was as a result of his immense contribution towards the writing of a book titled, “My Child My Future” and also in helping to build social and emotional skills in Ghanaian children since 2018.
The awards ceremony took place during the 2021 Emotional Intelligent Africa Summit, under the Topic: Our Children, Our Future: the Role of the stakeholder,” held at Saltpond.
It was attended by Senior High School and National Vocation Institute students, Parents, Teachers, Traditional Leaders and Basic School students in the Mfantseman Constituency and other parts of the Central Region.
Daasebre Kwebu Ewusi, who is also the immediate past Vice President of the National House of Chiefs, was given a Certificate of honour by Mr James Kwesi Addison, Chief Executive officer of AIECI.
He was also presented Chief Emotional Intelligence citation by the Group, describing him as the “most promising and progressive Paramount Chief in Central Region.”
They also indicated in the citation that his leadership style and affable nature had brought hope and admiration to the Chieftaincy Institution as he represented peace and development that drew people from all walks of life towards him.
“You are open-minded, very accommodating and your doors are open to all and sundry, Abeadze traditional Area has found peace and development under your reign and we pray for Gods protection, blessing, long life full of good health and finally wisdom from above to continue serving the good people of Abeadze, Central Region and the nation as a whole.”
Receiving the honours, Daasebre Kwebu Ewusi expressed his appreciation to the organisers for the honour and commended them for hosting this year’s summit in the Region.
He encouraged Heads of Institutions to engage the services of Addison International so together, they optimized social and emotional learning in the schools for the betterment of the children who are the future of the country.
The organizations further presented a citation to Okokodurfo Ogyeabo Kwamena Hammah Ababio II, Paramount Chief of Ajumako Traditional Area, for being the longest-serving paramount chief in the Region.
“Your ability to grow in the face of difficulties was put to test when you were installed as a chief at a very tender age of 18 in 1954, an enormous responsibility that you have executed to date.
“You grew and survived and have led your people peacefully and contributed your quota to both the central regional house of chiefs and the national house, your ability to bounce back in times of challenges is unquestionable and admired by your subjects and people around you.
“We at Addison International see this as a blessing from above and we wish to join hands with all gathered here to celebrate and honor you.
Okokodurfo Hammah Ababio II expressed his appreciation for the recognition, saying it was his wish that the Emotional Intelligence Centre and its partners continued to pursue issues that focused on protecting the emotional well-being of the citizenry, especially children.
For his part, Mr Alex Kobina Stonne, Sports Broadcast journalist of the Multimedia Group Limited, was also honoured for his contribution towards development in Breman Asikuma traditional area and the country as a whole.
The honour, he stated, would spur him to contribute towards sports development, especially in the area of Persons with Disability that has led to his appointment as a member of the media committee of the blind sports association since 2015.
