Bankyease (WR),- The Takoradi Central Church of Christ has feted 400 widows, orphans and the physically challenged in the church’s catchment community and beyond.
The beneficiaries received mini bags of rice, spaghetti, canned fish, loaves of bread and cooking oil, at a total cost of 47,000 cedis.
In addition, each widow received a full piece of wax print.
Similarly, the inmates of the Sekondi prison also received 60,000 worth of assorted products from the church to mark the yuletide and new year festivities.
Dr Dan Owusu Asiamah, the Missionary and Head Preacher of the Church, said the Takoradi Central Church of Christ valued hospitality to the vulnerable as a key pillar, demonstrating human existence and the command in the Bible to love and cater for the needy in society.
He said the Bible specifically mentioned widows, orphans, prisoners and the sick as people that Christendom must continue to care for.
Dr Asiamah added that the church would not, therefore, relent on showing kindness to such groupings in the activity plan of the congregation.
Speaking on Godly living and productivity, the Preacher encouraged believers to endeavour to do well in the new year.
He said Christians must be an example to all as the light of the world, eschew evil and sinful practices and work hard to create genuine wealth.
Dr Asiamah also encouraged believers to love God the more in the new year, offer pure Christian service and live to earn the favour of God.
