Zico 1981 Alumni Boosts Educational Resources at Zion College.

ANLOGA: The 1981-year group Alumni of Zion College (Zico) has extended significant support to their alma mater in the Anloga District of the Volta Region by donating various items to enhance teaching and learning at the school. The donations, valued in the thousands of Ghana cedis, include a renovated computer lab, 40 Opt Plex 7040 Dell desktop computers equipped with corresponding mice and monitors, power cables, keyboards, and additional furniture such as 15 tables and 30 dining benches.

According to Ghana News Agency, Mr. Thomas Clarkson Adadey, the leader of the 1981 alumni group, emphasized the group’s commitment to improving educational quality at the school. He highlighted that during a previous visit for the commissioning of a renovated classroom block, they identified further challenges and decided to contribute towards elevating the school’s standards.

Mr. Adadey explained that the project was funded by contributions from past students both locally and internationally. He acknowledged the excepti
onal support and donations from Mr. Christian Agbezudor, CEO of Cell Construction Limited, and Mr. Gemeli Tameklo, a leader of the alumni abroad. Mr. Adadey stressed the importance of equipping students with computer skills to adapt to the digital and technological advancements in the world. He also urged other alumni to contribute to the ongoing development of the school.

The alumni association has outlined future projects, including the rehabilitation and expansion of the dining hall, electrification of dormitories and classrooms, to facilitate smoother academic activities.

Madam Nutifafa Abla Kwawukumey, the headmistress of the school, expressed gratitude for the timely intervention, which she believes will significantly enhance the educational experience. She assured that the donated items would be used appropriately and called on other alumni, individuals, organizations, and the government to address remaining challenges like insufficient beds, classrooms, and the need for an expanded assembly hall.

Mr. Dominik Yao Dzanado, the Director of Education at Anloga, praised the alumni group for their support and encouraged other former students to follow their example to address challenges faced by schools across Ghana.
